About the Role
This is a high‑impact role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, improving systems, and partnering directly with ownership. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting and finance while also helping shape how the business grows. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into a VP of Finance over time.
What You’ll Do
Core Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Own the general ledger, monthly close, and reconciliations
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate with external CPAs and tax advisors
- Improve and document accounting processes
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Build and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Track performance vs. budget and explain variances
- Develop cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity
- Support capital planning and operating decisions
Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Build and maintain property‑level and portfolio‑level financial models
- Analyze NOI, cash flow, operating expenses, and capex decisions
- Provide clear, actionable insights to ownership
Cash & Operations Support
- Monitor daily cash position and bank balances
- Manage banking relationships and payments
- Support rent roll accuracy and financial reporting for properties
Leadership & Growth (As the Company Scales)
- Serve as the primary financial partner to ownership
- Help define KPIs and establish a consistent financial reporting cadence for owners
- Provide monthly, financial reports to the owner group, including regular reporting on performance, cash flow, and key risks
- Over time, hire and manage finance support as needed

Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
- Strong hands‑on accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- CPA, CMA, or similar credential
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in real estate, property management, or a related industry
- Familiarity with property management or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi)
